Roman Stolzenberger: Curriculum Vitae

Roman Stolzenberger has been working as a research associate and lecturer at the Chair of International Relations at Julius Maximilians University Würzburg since March 2025. His research focuses on external democracy promotion, particularly by Democratic Emerging Powers such as India and Brazil, as well as on processes of autocratization and their external drivers.
He is currently contributing to the EMBRACE research project and teaches courses in International Relations, democratization, and foreign policy analysis, with an emphasis on external democracy and autocracy promotion.
Previously, he completed his Master’s degree in Political and Social Sciences at Julius Maximilians University Würzburg in 2025. His thesis, titled “Democratic Emerging Powers and External Democracy Promotion: Models of Democracy in the Promotion Efforts of India and Brazil”, was supervised by Dr. Christoph Mohamad-Klotzbach and Prof. Dr. Sonja Grimm.
