Climate-conscious? Is sustainability research part of the protest?
In a relaxed atmosphere we want to discuss the topic of science and activism in climate and environmental protection. After a short exchange between theory and practice, there will be a World Café with different tables on different topics, such as sustainability research and protest, value neutrality of science or scientific policy advice. Prof. Dr. Michael Böcher, Chair of Political Science and Sustainable Development at the University of Magdeburg, will give an insight into his current research on the integration of scientific knowledge into climate and environmental policy. The event will be accompanied by music from Anne Lendle alias aennies.

Solidary appropriation of knowledge - the Brazilian peasant university Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul as a model for transformation?
A university focused on sustainability. A cross-curricular curriculum where students are directly involved in deciding the content. A cafeteria where 30% of the food comes directly from local farmers. This is everyday life at the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul (UFFS), a Brazilian state university built largely by small farmers, indigenous people and the landless. We discuss approaches to transformative universities with Dr Antônio Inácio Andrioli, former UFFS vice-president and currently visiting scholar at the University of Hamburg's Centre for Sustainable Society Research.

Panel Discussion ‘Sustainability in Bavaria - Bavarian Parliamentary Candidates Discuss Solutions’

We are particularly interested in the parties' positions on selected sustainability goals and their concrete proposals for measures to achieve these goals at the state level. How do politicians deal with scientific findings from sustainability research?
