Würzburg Academics and Students in India 2013
India remained a focus of the international agenda of the Institute: In 2013 several staff members and students from Würzburg also traveled to India as visiting Lecturers and in order to do research.
In the all of 2013 Prof. Dr. Gisela Müller-Brandeck-Bocquet was a visiting Lecturer at the Jawaharlal-Nehru University in New Delhi and at Hyderabad University, both are partner Institutions of Würzburg University. She gave lectures on the current state of the European Union and German Foreign Policy as well as on other topics.
PD Dr. Michael Becker was also a visiting Lecturer in India: He visited the Jawaharlal-Nehru Unviersity and the Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi were he lectured on Political Theory among other topics. Philipp Gieg visited the Universities in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Manipal as a visiting Scholar as well as to do research for his Dissertation. He gave presentations on German Foreign Policy and European Policy towards Africa.
Two Würzburg students from the Master’s Program Political and Social Sciences also went to India: Timo Lowinger and Christian Gäbele worked on their Master Thesis in New Delhi and Hyderabad on the topic Indian Foreign Policy; they did research on the relationships between India and South Africa as well as the Indo-American Relationships.
