Call for Papers: Ecocide on Trial: Comparative Perspectives on the Contested Politics of Criminalizing Environmental Harm
10.12.2024Dr. Philipp Gieg and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Ulrike Zeigermann are calling for papers for their planned panel "Ecocide on Trial: Comparative Perspectives on the Contested Politics of Criminalizing Environmental Harm" at ECPR General Conference 2025 in Thessaloniki. The panel, part of the conference's Environmental Politics section, will explore the political and legal dynamics surrounding the criminalization of ecocide.
The panel seeks contributions that investigate how different jurisdictions, from national to international levels, conceptualize and implement legal frameworks to address large-scale environmental harm. Scholars from fields such as environmental politics, public policy, international relations, and political theory are invited to submit abstracts by December 31, 2024.
